Welcome to the very 1st

Ladies That Mahj Mahj-Letter! 💕🀄️

I am SO excited you’re here! What started as my own love for American Mahjong has grown into this incredible community of players who want to learn, improve, connect, and—most importantly—have FUN playing this amazing game.

Each month, I’ll be popping into your inbox with a little bit of everything Mahj: strategy tips, rules that might surprise you, game play insights, things I’m loving, special discounts, new videos, and maybe even a few behind-the-scenes moments from Ladies That Mahj.

My goal is simple: to help you become a more confident Mahjong player while continuing to build the community that makes this game so special.

Welcome to my table. It’s always open. 💕🀄️

Downloadable Practice Board

I’m a HUGE fan of practicing the Charleston with what’s called Solo Mahj. It’s one of my favorite ways to get more comfortable making those quick decisions about what to keep, what to pass, and where your hand might be headed.

But I never got the itch to spend money on one of those expensive practice boards…so I made my own printable version! 🀄️💕

And I thought you might enjoy it too! Simply place your tiles on the markers and start practicing. It’s an easy way to work on your Charleston skills right at home—and the more you practice, the more naturally those decisions start to come.

TIP OF THE MONTH💡

If you’re waiting for a pair, turn the one tile you already have upside down in your rack as soon as the first matching tile is discarded.

This little visual reminder tells you: Pay attention—one of the tiles I need is already out!

Continue watching the discards carefully. If three matching tiles are discarded and you’re holding the fourth, you can no longer complete that pair—it’s time to pivot.

This simple trick helps me track important tiles and recognize sooner when a hand is no longer possible. 🀄️
